Summary
The Program, in which the Italian Parliament also participates, with the Hellenic Parliament as its leader, is funded exclusively by the European Commission. Its aim is the provision of the expertise in order to strengthen the Armenian National Assembly on monitoring the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Armenia and the EU, which covers bilateral trade and entrepreneurship issues.
Purpose
Strengthen institutional cooperation and the exchange of expertise and experiences between Parliamentary staff by achieving the following objectives:
- The deepening of democracy in Armenia, through the strengthening of the basic legislative functions and the improvement of the working systems of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
- The provision of assistance to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in promoting key substantive reforms in the legislation and policies related to the implementation of CEPA.
In order to achieve the project objectives, at least 30 experts from Greece and Italy will be engaged. There will be 8 results and over 40 missions, as well as study tours and internships in the Hellenic Parliament, the Italian Parliament and the Senate. Visibility actions will be implemented, such as Conferences, online public information, press releases and information material.
