National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF)
The new "Regional Development Partnership Agreement 2021-2027" ("NSRF 2021-2027") largely reflects the new priorities of the European Commission and Greece's new development priorities for the coming years.
It was approved by the European Commission on July 29, 2021, and according to it, a total of €26.2 billion will be allocated to our country over the next seven years, of which €20.9 billion relates to EU support and €5.3 billion to the national contribution.
Greece is the first EU Member State to formally submit and have its "Regional Development Partnership Agreement 2021-2027" approved for the new Programming Period.
The new "NSRF 2021-2027" sets out and prioritises measures to strengthen the productive capacity of the economy, infrastructure, human skills and social protection.
The projects/actions to be funded by the new NSRF take into account the specific conditions and needs of the country in the coming years and respond to the structural weaknesses of the Greek economy. At the same time, major projects that began under the 2014-2020 NSRF are continuing and being completed.
The priorities and actions to be implemented are presented as an overall policy, with the aim of achieving a fruitful transition to:
- A "smarter" Greece - 20% of resources
- A "greener" Greece - 27% of resources
- A "more interconnected" Greece - 8% of resources
- A "more social" Greece - 30% of resources
- Greece closer to its citizens - 6% of resources
- for the Just Transition of regions after lignite phase-out - 7% of resources
The new "NSRF 2021-2027" has a strong development footprint through high added-value actions and projects with multiplier benefits for both society and the economy - after the pandemic crisis - contributing greatly to the start of a new cycle of prosperity for all.
The Regional Development Partnership Agreement 2021-2027 was approved by the European Commission on July 29, 2021.
NSRF Programs
The NSRF 2021-2027 consists of 22 Programs, of which 9 are Sectoral and 13 are Regional:
Sectoral Programs concern one or more sectors and have a geographical scope covering the entire country
The Regional Programs, one for each of the Greek Regions, include actions of regional scope.
In addition, 5 Territorial Cooperation Programs are being implemented during the 2021-2027 period.
